Hisataka Nishimori

Profile
Born in Osaka, Japan. Hisataka Nishimori studied composition through the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. From 2012 to 2015, he participated in summer master courses at Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Italy, and recieved Diploma di Merito(diploma for most-valuable participant) twice.
He received the 1st prize in Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Musicale "MUSICA E POESIA TRA ITALIA E GIAPPONE", received the 2nd prize in ACL Young Composers Competition in the 34th Asian Composers League Conference and Festival, received the 2nd prize and Audience Award in the 2nd International Composition Competition "Costruttori di Armonie" Premio Giuseppe Lodigiani, received the 3rd prize in the 8th TIAA All-Japan Composers Competition, got shortlisted for the 8th JFC Composer's Award Contest as a finalist, got shortlisted for Donald Aird Composers Competition(2016) as a finalist, and so on. Also his pieces have selected at the ISCM World New Music Days 2017 in Vancouver, and at the ISCM&ACL 2022 in Newzea land.
Since 2015, he began studing guitar music for his composition, and participating in sevral classical guitar projects. One of his piece for guitar solo was included on guitarist Ken Inoi's 2nd album "Ricordi", and wrote the piece for guitar ensemble at the request of the music festival Osaka Guitar Summer 2021 which was produced by Shin-ichi Fukuda. He also serve as a juror of the Guitar Grand Prix in Osaka from the point of view of composer since 2019.
Recently he put a lot of effort into musical educational reserch as a musical teacher, he has been perticipating the project of piano piece for children by Edition KAWAI almost every year, and his sevral pieces were published. He is usurally interested in Japanese mythologies, ghost stories(kaidan), and folklore. Most of his work were inspired by them.
He has studied under Harue Kondoh, Giorgio Battistelli, and Salvatore Sciarrino.
Member of the Japan Federation of Composers, and the Japan Music Education Society. Belong to the Contemporary music group Hibiki Zensen, the composers group Sui Otonokura, and the composers group Otozure.
